VideoProbe (by Hutchinson et al, 2003)

The videoProbe provides a simple method of sharing impromptu images among family members living in different households. Using a video camera that takes a snapshot when the image it captures becomes steady for approximately three seconds. The images are stored and made available to anyone else in the network. Family members can browse the images with a remote control. Images fade over time and eventually disappear, to encourage families to create new ones.
