Remote Handshaking (Nakanishi et al 2014)

This Remote Handshaking project was to study telepresence in live video conversation. A robotic arm allows one to shake hand with the remote presenter. On the presenter's side, the handshaking motion is activated by a sensor attached on presenter's finger. To facilitate the illusion of holding a real person's hand, the remote user's arm is hidden from the camera.
