Taking mental health and wellbeing as a starting point, this project focuses on children whose parents are going through a divorce. Especially nine to twelve year old children who are in this situation find it difficult to express their emotions towards their parents. Fida was designed as a way for these children to leave messages and convey feelings to their parents, helping them bring up sensitive topics.
Filda is a small product that can be bought at a toy store or supermarket. It records short sound messages and allows for the attaching of a personal object. This message can be played back only once, securing the privacy of the message.
Emotional expression, physical contact, joint activities, gift giving, etc. - there are many different ways how humans create feelings of relatedness with intimate partners - also in remote, indirect or asychronous situations. Technology and artifacts shape these experiences. Consequently, there is a huge field of research waiting to be explored.
